Brief:- A Q-Switched Laser (aka Q-Switched Nd-Yag Laser) is used in various types of procedures. The laser is a beam of energy at a specific wavelength (1064 nm) applied to the skin and absorbed by coloured pigments such as freckles, sun spots, age spots, etc. in the skin. This fragments the pigmentation and helps it get broken down by the body. The power settings of the laser can be set at different levels and frequencies to accommodate specific conditions and expectations.
The pigment absorbs the laser energy and gets fragmented within the skin’s tissues, thereby giving you a smooth and even skin tone. The laser reaches hard to reach deeper areas where products or peels etc do not reach. It usually takes about 6-8 sessions for the service to work effectively.
Even though there is no downtime associated with Q-switched Nd Yag Laser, your skin might turn a little grey or white for a few minutes after the treatment. People with sensitive skin might even face a little redness in the treated area for some days which is completely normal and nothing to be worried about.
The best part of the Q-switched laser is that it is effective with no downtime! A mild pinkish flush might be present for about 15 mins after the laser. You can put on make-up immediately after laser treatment and go straight back to work!
